You can't help but think that if he hadn't been through a notorius murder trial, he wouldn't have got so many years. I however, don't feel any sympathy for him.

A minimum of 9 years for armed robbery and kidnapping sounds pretty lenient to me.

Karma, that's what I think. It was more than just ball cards, but the point is, he used a gun during the botched robbery. I can't help but think he believed he was made of Teflon. I don't know if it's just his arrogance, or sheer ignorance. Either way, I believe the sentence fits the crime.

He used a gun to steal ball cards. That is about like using a sledge hammer to swat a fly, and it shows an intent to use violence to achieve his goal. If anything, he got off too easy, again. If he was John Doe instead of O.J. he probaby would have gotten more.
