How can you help a girl that is scared to show her love because she thinks she will get hurt(emotionally)?

MOST WOMEN WHO ARE SCARED TO SHOW LOVE FOR FEAR OF GETTING HURT HAVE HAD BAD RELATIONSHIPS IN THE PAST AND ARE AFRAID OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN SO THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO SHOW LOVE FOR FEAR THEY WILL BE REJECTED OR HURT BY SOMEONE WHO IS'NT IN LOVE WITH THEM SO YOU HAVE TO REASSURE HER THAT YOU PROMISE TO ALWAYS BE FAITHFUL TO HER AND NEVER HURT HER AND IF YOU SHOW HER THAT YOU ARE TRUSTWORTHY SHE'LL START SHOWING YOU MORE LOVE

Isn't she hurting in some form now because she isn't showing what she wants to? There's always a chance she will get hurt in any circumstance. She should go for it. At the very least she can stop guessing and brooding over it. Besides, if this doesn't end up the way she wanted, another opportunity will surely come her way...it almost always does.

You can't..that willingness to be vulnerable comes from within each person. Like being afraid of the water..you stand on the edge of the pool..afraid you'll drown if you go in. If someone comes along and pushes you in, your terror increases. But if you jump in yourself, well, you have a chance to get over the fear because you didn't drown, you surived! :)

I'm in the same situation...but I'm that girl. I'm battling my old relationships, and low self esteem. Sometime all I need is a hug, and reassurance. It's taking me some time...just be patient and work with her. She'll slowly come out of that shell she's put herself in. God knows it's slowly happening to me. Good luck!

my wife was liek that wen i first met her. we just took it slow. let her know she can trust you and never ever give her any reason or doubt not to trust you. keep it slow just go hang out with friends a couple times then start goin out alone and stuff dont push her to be in afull on relationship with you yet just let her know and feel that you can be her safe place

tell her that it is ok and try to be understanding and tell her over and over that you would never hurt her in anyway possible. i know alot bout this cuz i have the same issue. did anything bad happen to her in her life??
