I just don't get it. what is the difference between saint nikolaos and santa clause?

none, in my country we call him "san nicolás" which is the spanish for "saint nikolaos" other ways to call him in Spanish: - santa - santa clós - san nicolás - viejito pascuero for some people is not santa who bring the gifts but "baby jesus" (that's true for my family) so we write the letter to baby jesus and we expect him to bring the presents.

Santa Claus came from St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas was a Bishop a long time ago. There was a story that he brought gifts to these three girls who were really poor, and he became the patron saint of children. So then, he became popular, and eventualy, through poems, songs, art work, and even coca cola adds, Santa Clause was born.

St. Nicholas was a real person at one time. There is a story that there was a father with 3 daughters. they wanted to get married but had no dowry. They would leave their shoes outside of their homes at night and one night St. Nicholas took 3 bags of coins and left one in each sister's shoes. Santa Claus was never a real person although he probably came about because of the story of St. Nicholas.

st nik was a bishop from turky and he gave food to the needy and helped prostertutes were others showned them he then went to diffrent parts of europe like holand and germany st nik is actualy the saint of prostertutes and helping others hes also the saint of other things but ive forgotin any wah santer clause took time to be made into to his modern day image the red santa cluase came about because a carttonist of the late 18th centery was told to draw an american version on santa so he drew him rinding a slay via 8 raindeer (ruudolf was introduced through the song) in a red suit then a company called rock water productions took it on as there logo (long before cokeacola was founded)in sted of the thraditional santa clause. thats how he was made coke a cola just made the red suited santa it world wide there ya go cos it anoys me wen people say cokacola madde him red or invented him he took hundres of years to invent!!! go on wikipedia and type in santa claus if u dont believ me
