not really sure why you don't want to search through the entire DB, give me a little more info, maybe I can help you

You don't need a search box. Just click on the Name field in your form and then either click the toolbar button that looks like a pair of binoculars, go to the Edit... Find menu item or press Control/F on your keyboard. Any of these actions will bring up the Find and Replace dialog box. Make sure the Find tab is selected, type the name you're looking for and click the Find Next button. If you want a more sophisticated way to do it look up combo box in Access Help.
