Very few answer my questions anymore, should I even continue to bother?

Don't let it worry you. Hopefully being on Answerbag isn't about testing your self-worth, especially since people on the internet just can't know you like flesh-and-blood people you see in your daily life. If, however, being on Answerbag is causing too much distress, take a break for a few days and then see if you'd like to come back. I've only asked maybe 5 questions myself, and the answers were so-so, if at all. I am more content answering these days.

Maybe you seem too intelligent for the other people. They are afraid to answer for fear you will mock them later. That or your questions just baffle the heck out of them!! Either way, you shouldn't quit asking questions, the only stupid question is one that isn't asked. Smile and have a great time, wear your underwear in front of the computer and giggle when you think of all the hard working people there are answering your questions in the confines of their restrictive clothing!!!

I suspect a lot of it has to do with timing -- WHEN you ask the question is very important, because a new question stays around for a very short time in the new 4.0 system. This is a problem, really -- every time an answer is posted to a question, it cycles back to the top of the list. But if it slides down to page 2 or 3, it can easily disappear forever. In the older system, questions "hung around" longer, because the timestamp of the QUESTION was used to sort, rather than the timestamp of the last ANSWER. So you're not alone with this problem. Posting around 6 PM PST seems to be the best on a weeknight, because that's when most of the users are on. But it's a crapshoot.

BobSaccamano, you actually have a pretty high ratio of answered to unanswered questions. I have quite a few that have not been answered for months. It's not a reflection of your popularity. Stableboy is right. Timing can be everything on AB. Also who is on at the time, and whether they know you.

Lol. Please PLEASE continue! I just discovered you! Whoa is me. This is going to be like all of my favorites ever. I just find out about something (say Dave Chappelle) and two days later he goes crazy and leaves for Africa. You're not going to go crazy and leave for Africa, are ya Bob?
