  • First, be sure to update to the latest driver for whichever wireless adapter you have. (Dell 1390/1490, Intel 2100/2200) Hopefully you're running XP (though I ran Vista on my D600 for a bit, but it had gaming issues) From Network Connections in the control panel, right click your wireless adapter and hit properties. Click the Wireless Networks tab. Click Advanced at the bottom. Check the box to Automatically connect to non-preferred networks. Hit close. From the Wireless Networks tab, delete all the preferred networks and then reconnect to yours (from View Available Wireless Networks). If you have the Dell wireless utility or the Intel utility installed, get rid of them! That should do it!
