  • water, have you been putting qtips in it? you could have a fungus in there, or a lot of wax build up. Putting qtips in there can push all the wax deep into your ear too...
  • Huh what? Clean you r ears out thoughly I mean use a ear cleaning kit and sthen se how things go. mr bill
  • El Soupy had some great reasons, you could also have allergies causing it.
  • It could be a middle ear infection coming on. At least, that's how mine started.
  • Wax that built up and suddenly got dislodged so it's blocking the main canal (A cotton swab could be the culprit, like Soupy sez), Water trapped in the canal...have you been swimming? A product called Swim Ear (which is isopropyl alcohol) can be used to lower the surface tension of the water allowing it to drain. Or it could be the beginning of an ear infection, do you also feel some pain? Are your neck glands (lymph nodes) swollen? If pain develops see your doc for a course of antibiotics. Do you have a cold or allergies active now? Either of these could close off your eustachian tubes and cause pressure to rise in your ear. This keeps the tympanic membrane (eardrum) from vibrating and it gives you that muffled effect. Hope this helps
