Well, this is what I do, and it can be really hard especially if you're in a particlarly foul mood, but it almost always works for me to at least improve my mood somewhat. I practice a sort of reverse psychology on myself. I make myself think only positive things that are going on at the moment like - I am so happy to be going to work this morning, there is no place I'd rather be and nothing else I'd rather be doing and DAMN it's good to be me. If you keep running this stuff through your mind, you almost start believing it even though you know logically it's all bs. Give it a try!

Listen to some good music, make sure you're hydrated, get the blood flowing excercise a little bit, take a nice hot shower. Might help.

First I try to identify WHAT has me in such a foul mood. Next, I think about what I can do to FIX my problem. If there's something I can do to fix it, then I do that. If I can't fix it immediately, or if it's something I do not have control over at all...I tell myself to LET IT GO...and music generally gets turned on with songs I can sing to...I also try to think about the things that are good in my life, the blessings I already have in one form or another. I figure, even if I'm sick or worried or angry, taking it out on others is not too likely to FIX my problem or heal my feelings of the moment.

Eat and sleep, or even better, find a sloth.

Turn on the morning news. I then am able to realize that there are people who are a lot worse off than I am. I can suck it up and get on with my day after watching for a couple of minutes.
-
I put some good music on, and take a shower to it.

try to think of the good things in life and the people that you love..it sounds cheesy but it does work :)
