ATHEISTS: Do you ever get scared of the Fact that you might be wrong about God?
No. I am more fearful of people who capitalize random words in their sentences. Seriously, what is wrong with those guys?!
But seriously...I don't like to classify myself as atheist but I don't believe in God in the traditional sense. However, I don't worry about whether I might be wrong about God because no human knows the truth, regardless of how strong their faith might be. I see it like...
Answer to:
Does country music cover more topics lyrically than any other kind of modern main-stream music?
I would say yes. I like country music because, despite its cliched reputation for being all about "divorce and pick-up trucks, " it really covers a wide spectrum of topics. There are happy, feel-good country songs, songs about grieving, sad love songs, sweet love songs, funny country songs, and on and on. Country songs simply tell stories. I *hate* when people say things like, "I like all...

No, not *all* Wal-Mart couples look the same just because you saw a few that matched. The majority of them look nothing alike, and you could find a few look-alike couples anywhere if you looked hard enough. Things seem to be more abundant when you are actively looking for them.

why are the teabaggers against free health care, when they are too poor to afford health care at the current situation?
Way to overgeneralize there, buddy! I am not a teabagger, nor do I agree with the political platform. However, what makes you think they are "too poor to afford health care at the current situation?" My in-laws are teabaggers and have no problems affording their healthcare (my FIL is in the medical profession). Your argument is invalid.
Answer to:
Why are all political questions posted here done so with an obvious slant and snide political agenda? Can't anyone just ask a question?
Most questions, whether political or not, are usually just a statement in disguise. For example, this "question" is really nothing but a statement proclaiming: "political questions posted here are done so with an obvious slant and snide political agenda." Because deep down, people just really want validation and to be agreed with.

If a guy get a girl pregnant, but is not financially able to support the child, and requests that the girl have an abortion, but she choses not to, should he still be sued for child support?
Yes, he should still pay child support! Here is the thing: deciding you are "financially unable to support a child" is a decision one should make *before* having unprotected sex not *after* a child is already conceived.

Answer to:
should a wife have the right to forbid her husband from getting a motorcycle? If not, should she be allowed to force him to wear a helmet?
Forbid? No. A spouse is not a parent, and assuming the husband has the financial bearings for this purchase, the wife has no right to deny him of it. She also cannot "force" him to wear a helmet, although, in most places it is illegal to ride without one.

Answer to:
Is it ok to feel depressed?
It is okay to feel whatever you feel. It is not possible to be happy 100% of the time, and how boring would that be, anyway? You need to experience some sadness to be able to truly appreciate the good. All feelings have their place.
Answer to:
What advice would you give to someone who can't figure out what career path they should take?
My only advice is to tell them that it is okay to not know. Many, many people end up in careers they never expected or that don't even fit their degrees at all. I think life leads you where it should. Just follow your passion, try new things, see what makes you happy and feels right. Don't overanalyze the future because it is never certain. Make good choices and it will all work out.
Answer to:
If you could bring one person back to life in todays world, who would it be and why?
I would bring back my son, who died 51 days ago, soon after he was born. I would give absolutely anything to be able to hear him cry. I would give my life to be able to see him open his eyes so that I would not forever wonder about their color. He was not even supposed to be here yet, and I so wish that he was still here, safe and sound in my belly. I miss him unbearably so.

What is your stereotype, according to your area/state/country, and how closely do you resemble this stereotype?
I am a woman from a rural part of the southeastern United States. The stereotypes I am often subjected to because of my accent are that I am slow-witted, politically conservative, demure, naive, etc. I am none of these things, but I do recognize that there is usually some truth embedded in stereotypes. Otherwise, they would never stick around.

What shoes are the most comfortable to wear if you are on your feet all day?
Merrel's! I am a teacher, and thus, on my feet a lot during the day. Merrel's are the only shoe brand I have found that do not leave my feet achy at the end of a long day. They are a little pricey and not the best looking shoe, but I only wear them to work.

Myself and many other ABers hate this. Can we have the old AB back??
Don't hold your breath for that to happen. While I am sure that AB appreciates its long-term members, it is still a for-profit site. They are trying to keep up with the curve, make things more 2.0, and gain new exposure. I think it's a good idea, but there are some obvious kinks and layout issues that need to be improved on. Overall though, I think its a step in the right direction. I know...

Answer to:
What makes a man attractive?
above all, confidence. If a man doesn't love himself, why should I? Also, good hygiene and fashion sense goes a long way! All the rest is pretty subjective. I like manly rugged men, but some women like more clean cut guys. It's mainly a matter of opinion.

No. I think he acted foolishly, but everyone makes mistakes so I don't think the public should hold it against him forever. However, this is not the first mistake of this type he has made so hopefully he has learned his lesson so it doesn't tarnish him forever.

Be direct, yet casual. Ask her if she wants to go out to dinner* with you some time. Don't make it seem like a big deal whether she says yes or no, just be confident.

Ladies: Do you ENJOY being treated like a lady, i.e. chairs pulled out for you, doors opened, men walking on the sidewalk closest to the street, yada, yada, yada? Or. . .are you a feminist and resent it?
Enjoying gentlemanly behavior has nothing to do with feminism. I consider myself a feminist in the sense that I believe women should have equal rights, especially in the work place. However, I am also a southern girl, and I expect gentlemanly behavior. It's just the norm here.

Millions of Native Americans were murdered in America. So why do people not think this is as bad as the Holocaust? What's your opinion?
A lot of my ancestry is Native American, and I do not think their hardships are given the respect they deserve. That being said...
over 11 million people died in the holocaust. also, it was a lot more recent than the native american genocide.
I get your underlying point, and I agree with it. There is no need to compare tragedies, however. It only takes away from your meaning.

Yes. It's your civic responsibility to pay taxes to cover the things you benefit from, e.g., roads, schools, parks, etc. It's arrogant to think you have the right to not pay your taxes when the majority of other people do. A lot of people don't like the corporate bailouts, but do you think your failure to pay is "punishing" the government somehow? Failed logic. I hope...

It is way more about your attitude and how you project yourself than physical appearance. There are some really unattractive people in the world who are in relationships so blaming it on anything physical is a cop out. Heck, even the world's fattest man just got married. I can't speak on your appearance because I've never seen you, but I doubt it is your attractiveness that is...

My hair gets greasy easily. I wash it every other day as I hear washing it too much rids the natural oils. Can anyone recommend shampoo for greasy hair?
get any kind of clarifying shampoo. it should be clear. Washing every day is not necessarily bad for all hair types. Some people with oily hair need to wash everyday, and because of their abundance of oil, it won't dry it out.
You may want to consider getting a dry spray shampoo to use on days you don't shampoo with water. It will get rid of the greasiness.

of course it's not legal for you to forge someone else's name on a legal document. I am sure firing you was just because you obviously lack some common sense. Men still dominate everything even though women have come a long way. We have our own porn/Playgirl/Guys Gone Wild but we want as much as the guys. 90% of women said they do. So why is there still sexism when it comes to everything?
Women do want sex as much as men, but women view sex inherently different from men. The reason they make porn just for women is because women enjoy a back story to accompany the sex.
Women were never the main market for Playgirl...it was gay men. The magazine no longer exists, however.

huh? "keys" is the word that is plural in that phrase, not car. I have more than one key that goes to my car (an ignition key and a door key), so I say "my car keys."

There is a girl that likes me and wants to be with me but she is on the chubby side, if she lost weight, I know I would be attracted to her, (just my preference for physical attraction) I want to be with her but only if she loses weight how do I tell her?
Unless you want to come across as a douche, do not say anything to her about her weight.
It seems to me that you're the one in the situation that needs to change, not her. Why should she have to change herself to suit your preference? Not only is it shallow, but it is extremely arrogant.

don't get involved. let them sort it out themselves. if your daughter feels like agreeing to play, she should, if not, she shouldn't. they are just friends. it is not like the other kid has an obligation to call her.

Six people go out to dinner. 5 order the cheapest meal at $8.99. One opts for steak dinner at $29.99. When the bill comes, the steak eater plops down $12.49 saying that his share, dividing the bill equally. Is this fair? If not, what could be done?
It depends on the person and the situation. However, I'd most likely speak up and point out the fact that their meal was 4x more expensive than everyone else's. It's not about the money, but about the attitude of that person.

You shouldn't be giving the sex up so early on. Make him earn it if you're interested in a real relationship. He'll respect you more, and you'll be happier. As for this situation, it seems like the dynamic has already been set. I'd probably bail and find someone new. He doesn't seem that into you.

How do you solve this equation 4(x+3)-x-3=-3(4+x)-6+15
First, use the distributive property (multiply every number inside the parentheses by the number in front of them) to remove your parentheses. When you do this, it becomes:
4x + 12 - x - 3 = -12 + -3x - 6 + 15
Now, we need to combine like terms...
(4x - x) + (12 - 3) = (-12 - 6 + 15) + -3x
3x + 9 = -3 + -3x
Now, add 3x to both sides to get your variable alone:
6x + 9 = -3

So what would you do? if you knew your boyfriend is attracted to one of his 'friends' and you can see the feeling is mutual. He isn't cheating BUT he won't give up his friendship either. If you brake it off.... then SHE gets him. What to do?
Talk about it first. Tell him that the friendship makes you uncomfortable because there seems to be chemistry between the two of them. If he really loves you and wants to be with you, he would pull back from the friendship for your peace of mind. Yes, you can break up with him even though he's your best friend. You need to just talk to him and reassure him about how much you care about, then explain that you don't think you two are meant to be more than friends. It may hurt him initially, but the sooner you do it, the easier it will be.

The attacks on Pearl Harbor were made by a country. The attacks on 9/11 were not made by a country, but rather by a group of terrorists from various countries. It is much more difficult to go after those involved in 9/11 because the group is so widely dispersed. It is way more complicated than just retaliating against one country.

Answer to:
Is the word "Harbor" a common noun or a proper noun? if you say common noun than, is it possible to change a common noun into a proper noun by adding an adjective to the sentence? for example "Florida Harbor"
Just the word harbor is a common noun. Adding an identifying noun before it makes it a proper noun. Just simply adding an adjective before a noun does not make it proper. For example, "big harbor" would not be a proper noun.
Proper nouns are formed when you are talking about a *specific* person, place, or thing. They are capitalized. The word specific is the key part.

What exactly is a Hootinanny (spelling?)
Hootenanny was used in the early twentieth century America to refer to things whose names were forgotten or unknown. In this usage it was synonymous with thingamajig or whatchamacallit, as in "hand me that hootenanny." Hootenanny was also an old country word for "party". Now, most commonly, it refers to a folk-music party.

I'm watching a movie on netflix called Crazy Love about a guy in the 50s who had lye thrown in his mistress's face after she broke up with him. It left her blind and disfigured her face. He went to prison, and after he was released, they got married. They're still married today. Romantic huh?

You take the backing off of the sticky paper and adhere the Foot Paste pad onto it then stick it to your feet.

Does anyone think Valentine's Day is a pointless holiday?
It has a point, just not a deep one. It's not a federal holiday...just a cute, fun one like Halloween. It brings happiness to some people and the message behind it is good. If you don't want to celebrate it, that's fine but all the anti-valentine stuff is getting tiresome.

No. How is it anymore gross than shaving your armpits? Prepubescent girls don't have hair there either. It has nothing to do with looking like a child. It's about hygiene and convenience. It serves no real purpose other than harboring bacteria, plus it looks better. Why not take it off?

If you have enough money to live, and have a small amount of savings, do you think that you should offer to share some the savings with a family member in need? Or is it a mistake? What's your opinion?
I never loan money to family members. However, if someone in my family needed money, I would be more than happy to help them out by giving it to them. I've seen too many episodes of the People's Court to ever enter into any financial agreements with family members.
There are exceptions to every rule, though. There are a few family members I wouldn't feel comfortable bailing out.

Invite her to go on a girl's day out with you. Get your hair, makeup, and nails done. Then go together and get new outfits. This should help with her confidence. Wii Fit or Dance Dance Revolution? Which one do you like better and which one do you think gives the most exercise?
I think Wii Fit gives you the most exercise opportunities. You can do everything from cardio (with activities like the aerobics and hula-hooping) to yoga. I love the fact that it tracks your progress. I wish there were more activities though.
DDR is good for cardio as well, but it gets very redundant after awhile. It also doesn't offer any of the other exercise options as wii fit.

Sometimes. My sister is insane about doing that, she literally cannot help it. She has been doing it since she was a little kid, so I mostly find it humorous that she STILL does it.

How did former Pittsburgh Steeler 'Mean Joe' Greene get the name 'Mean Joe'? His given name is Charles Edward Greene.
He got this nickname because "mean" described his demeanor on the field. He was a beast. I am sure it also had something to do with the fact that it rhymed with his last name.

When neither husband or wife works outside of the home any longer, should they equally share all the home chores; including cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, food shopping, paying bills, etc?
Ideally, I would say yes, but it's up to each individual family to set their own guidelines. Whatever works best for them and whatever they both agree on is what should be done.

Do you care if you get DR'd?..I,personally, couldn't care less. I just uncheck the ratings box on the 'my feedback' and never see them. Anyone else do the same?
No, I don't. I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me or getting pissed off at me. It keeps life interesting.
If you truly didn't care, you wouldn't turn your ratings off to ignore them, nor would you ask a question about it.

Anyone that came out from a bad relationship with your fathers and now has a cool and good Relationship with your father, can help me to have a good relationship with mine, because mine always gets on my nerves.
I went through a period where I didn't talk to my dad for quite awhile. However, I eventually forgave him, and we now have a good relationship. He still gets on my nerves occasionally, but I couldn't imagine my life without him. Be thankful you have a dad and try to look past the annoyances.

I think I just set a new record! I just reviewed my cell phone bill online and my and long distance boyfriend and I txt'd 550 times and spent over 3000 minutes on the phone this month! Have you ever talked that much? (Safe to say he likes me?)
Yes, I met my now-husband while out of town, so we were long distance for a few months. In those early months, we talked an average of 2 or 3 hours a night, unless we were together.
As for texting...we still text each other constantly, even when we are in the house together. I send around 2000 texts a month, probably half of them to him. lol

Why do so many teenagers swear?
because of mature feelings without the mature vocabulary or mindset to support them, this is true not only for teenagers, but people in general. I swore a lot when I was a teenager, but since I've matured and found better ways to express myself, it seems so unnecessary.
Answer to:
My boyfriend and I are having a disagreement. Is it spelled evily or evilly?
Evilly because evil already ends in an L so adding the suffix -ly to it would make it a double L. The same rule applies to words like beautifully and locally.

Why does NUNYA always have to comment "+6 Great answer!" to everyone so that she can get points too (and its not even her own question that's asked)? Just curious.
I don't know why you would immediately assume that she says "+6 great answer!" so that she can "get points too." I always thought it was because she was just being nice. Personally, I never go back and give someone points just because I know they have done it for me.
That being said, I do wish people would not comment my answers with the "great answer +6"...

Woman is singular, which means you use it when you are talking about ONE person.

Women is plural, which means you use it when you are talking about MORE THAN ONE person.
Example: The women are walking down the street.
It's the same as man/men only with the "wo" in front.

It means she is neutral. For example, if someone asked me if I liked Al Roker, I would have to answer that I've never really put any thought into how I felt about him. Neutrality can be worse than dislike.

Animals do respond to music. If you're talking about only in the physical sense, I don't think animals process rhythms or beats the same way humans do. I think they do register the tone of music though.
