Yes. A dove is indeed a type of pigeon.

Do job search engines like Monster and Hotjobs really work?
They are a good resource to show you what is available in the job market. As far as putting your resume out there and having employers come to you, that's a mighty large sea of resumes, so I wouldn't count on the employers coming to you. Having said that, I got my current job four years ago by having a resume on Monster.

Do these new pills that promise weight loss overnight really work? Are they safe?
Anything that promises weight loss in a day or two is more than likely just a diruetic. (Or even worse, maybe a laxative!) They'll cause you to lose water weight, but do nothing for real weight loss.
My suggestion for weight loss is to find a plan you can live with. If you can't see yourself following a diet for the rest of your life, it's quite likely not going to work for...

Are there any strategies for roulette?
Wesley Snipes says, "Always bet on black." But then again, Wesley Snipes' money did not come from a roulette wheel.
The problem with roulette is those pesky little green spaces, 0 and 00. Those two spots are what gives the house its advantage, and they do end up being a pretty large vig for the house. Unlike blackjack where you can use skill and betting strategy to improve...

Which slot machines have the best payouts?
The one that other jerk is playing! :)
There's no way to answer this that is going to work every day at every casino (or even half the days at half the casinos) I've heard things about slots in high traffic areas, near doors, etc, but in the end, they're all wallet cleaners.
Let's put it this way: You lose $1,000 to a slot machine, the next guy walks up and wins...

Answer to:
Can you actually beat the house by counting cards in Blackjack?
Yeah, that's why the casinos spend time and money on busting card counters. If you get the travel channel, they have a lot of shows on vegas, and a few of them are about busting the cheaters.
Answer to:
Which casino games have the best odds?
With a good system, you can get very handsome odds with blackjack. A solid betting strategy and the ability to keep track of the cards you've seen (not card counting per se, but to at least have a general idea of wether the deck is with or against you) can take you far in blackjack.
Craps also has better odds for the player, with less of it hinging on strategy and skill than blackjack....

Answer to:
How much do I have to gamble before casinos will start giving me free rooms?
Around here (Minnesota) all the casinos have these cards that you collect points on while gambling, and you can exchange these points for various things, including free room. I believe similar cards can be found in Vegas, etc. With these, anyone would eventually get a free room. As far as having the casino comp you a room the old fashoioned away, that would probably depend on a great many...

Can I use two screens at once, connected to the same computer? How?
There are video cards that have two outputs ("dual head" is what I've always heard them called) The thing I've always found to be neat about these is the fact you can set it up so when your mouse cursor reaches the edge of one monitor, it pops over to the other. Back in the day (1993) I used a Mac for desktop publishing that had a 15" color monitor and a 19" black...
Answer to:
Apple computers seem to have much slower processors than PCs in terms of megahertz. Does that mean they're slower?
This is similar to a question I just answered concerning Intel vs AMD chips, and the same applies here. Megahertz are not the be-all and end-all of processor benchmarks. I have not tried one myself, but I've heard the new G5 is a rocket. I'm not a big fan of MacOS,(plus I like to build my own) otherwise it would be quite tempting.
Answer to:
In terms of MegaHertz (in CPU rating, and also the motherboard speed), the AMD processor platform is much slower than the Pentium IV counterpart, what does this mean in terms of speed and performance in relation to gaming and frame rates?
Megahertz are not the be-all and end-all of PC performance ratings. In basic terms, AMD processors do more with each clock cycle. That's why AMDs model number for the processor is more than the actual clock speed, it's a reference to the equivalent Intel chip.
My opinions:
Intel makes excellent, top notch chips. I work in IT and I have seen a grand total of ONE defective Intel...

Can the government (or record industry) actually track down individual users who are illegally sharing files?
For the most part, they need the help of your ISP. The RIAA can collect your IP address, but they need your ISP to tell them who owns the account that was logged in with that IP at that time. This is basically the front line in the fight against the RIAA. There is a lawsuit with Verizon concerning ISPs being forced to hand over customer info, and the RIAA recently sent out nearly 1,000...

Which file sharing clients install spyware on my system?
Kazaa does, and I believe BearShare does, but it still ran even after I removed the spyware with AdAware. Last time I installed it, WinMX was spyware free.

What is the best personal firewall software for my home Windows-based PC?
I use (and love) ZoneAlarm. The basic version is available for free at http://www.zonelabs.com. I've used an older version of ZoneAlarm Pro and currently run the latest free version, and I find the free version to be just as good for what I use it for. (Controlling which apps access the network)

Numerous credit-counseling agencies, all of them claiming non-profit status, want my business enough to advertise on late night TV, and even send me spam. Are these places sketchy? How should I select one?
Well, first step, don't confuse non-profit with not actually making money off of you. :)
If you have a lot of creditors and you owe them a lot of money, I think they are a good way to get yourself out of trouble. Others may be able to provide personal experience, but if you stay with one of the big names (LIke Cambridge of Genus) you should be OK.
Basically what they do is work out...
