I don't believe there is such a thing as a stupid question but what's your example of a stupid question?

There was a lot of stupid questions on answerbag and sadly there still are, but probably one that really stood out and caught my attention was a bloke that asked a question regarding plants.

Now allow me to first qualify my stand on this. We all know that if you remove a kidney from a person and if you now focus on the kidney itself (not the person who is in pain without anaesthetic). Lets say, you use a knife and cut the already removed kidney in a way as some psychos would do it to torture someone, would you think the kidney itself would feel pain? Obviously no, because by itself the kidney has no brain and thus no sense of pain and no sense of "self" for that matter. The person from which you removed the kidney would experience the excruciating pain without anaesthetic, but never the kidney itself. This is further supported by that fact that if a person becomes paralysed, no matter what you do to the part of the body that's paralysed, even if you chop their paralysed arm off, the person can still continue the conversation with you because it is disconnected to the brain. As I said no brain, no pain. Do we agree on this? Of course. But if in doubt ask a medical doctor.

This removed kidney is like a vegetable or any other plants which has no central nervous system, thus no sense of self and no sense of pain. It is that simple. Like a souless, brainless machine but biological in its design.

But back to the person who asked about the question regarding plants. He asked: "since plants are alive too so how do vegetarians justify eating carrots but not eat animals." Now, like any reasonably intelligent person who has no trouble understanding the kidney analogy, one would believe this questioner to be of extraordinary low intellect by asking such a stupid question. Extraordinary low! what's more shocking is that this stupid question has been repeated over and over by many butchers and their friends on AB many a time, under similar versions. It makes me wonder whether eating meat actually shrinks intellectual capacity for a human animal.
