The term anabaptist was used to describe and define certain Christians during the Reformation.

These Christians rejected infant baptism, choosing instead believer's baptism.

Since many of them had been baptized in their infancy, they chose to be rebaptized as believing adults.

So their enemies called them anabaptists -- "re-baptizers."

    • Ignatius, why are you denying history? Is it just because your "church" denies it? They also denied the round earth.

    • Good answer. Almost all non Catholics share the original believes of the Anabaptist presently. Anabaptist's believe, Baptism at birth does not ensure salvation, you must be of the age of reason and accept Jesus as your savior; and the holy trinity of the Catholics is a fallacy, the scripture does not support it.

These ideas were heretical but have been accepted by most protestant derivations.
