According to the Christian religion, if someone confessed and asked for forgiveness prior to committing suicide, could they do that, and after killing themselves, still go to Heaven?

That seems to be the one sin you can't get out of.

You can rape and kill thousands of others. Torturing millions is perfectly dandy... IF you can make to to confession in time and repent. And if you do make it - then god will like you even more than someone who's been a devout, sinless worshiper all their life - per the story of the Prodigal Son.

The only way round this is to take some sort of slow acting but irreversible poison, THEN go confess and repent.

But after successfully committing suicide you really can't do much of anything, including confessing, right?

Pre-Paying for sins by amassing a credit on the confessions ledger seems a bit dodgy to me. Though indulgences may be one way....
