I'm going by Cherie Currie's book. For her audition she was to choose a Suzi Q song to sing. She chose Fever which the band would not do. Joan Jett & Ken F went off for ~20 min. to write the song!
Ford was said to be a true pain-as happens so often, she hated the publicity that others got.
I assume you agree that it's lame to say The Runaways wrote the song.
