When did the word "sketchy" come to mean of questionable or suspicious character? It used to mean incomplete, as in "the available details are sketchy, so far".

    Maybe it's a connection to the fact that crimminal sketch artist's draw "sketches" of suspects. So perhaps a sketchy person is worthy of being drawn as a sketch.
