Discovery channel has/had a show called Animal Face-off where they "tested" two similar animals in a fight. Of course they didn't actually test, but simply evaluated their strengths and weaknesses, then computer generated a fight. In this show, the lion won.

    • I remember that episode. They reasoned that although the tiger is larger and stronger than the lion the lion would win because being a more social animal it gets into more peer-peer territorial combat than a tiger does and therefore has more fighting experience.

    • WHAT utter nonsense!! There we go, typical scientist who think they can predict/calculate the beginning from the end, how on earth is it possible for scientists to consider every piece of data necessary to evaluate the end result? As the years go on,there are always more and more questions that arise later; to what the original scientists have asked; who established the original results, and these questions that arise in the future that the people back then didn't think about, always destroys the original THEORY. That is the big problem with scientists (not science) and that is that THEY THINK they can, and that takes us back to the theory of relativity. Science has always been, and always will be guessing if the question cant be seen. Although I am NOT against science, my doubt comes is in the humans who evaluate and analyze the data, and the questions always arise later to what the original scientists didn't think of.

SO, in other words, the fact that scientists have the arrogance to even think that they can predict such a challenge between a tiger and a lion by mere computer calculations and reasoning, is UTTER NONSENSE! Let me tell you who are the REAL scientists behind this scenario. These are the people that are millionaires/billionaires, that get bored with life, and decide to take part in something more exciting and illegal to thrill their boring lives. They PAY and bet on a fight like that which actually takes place in a cage fight, they have OBSERVED this (as science means to observe), and THEY ARE the ones who KNOW the real results, rather than speculating from a ever error occurring computer that has to analyze data from a ever error occurring input from the human race.

So now, do you HONESTLY believe in a "science" entertaining channel that gives you the conclusion? I THINK NOT!

Here is something else to consider to close this comment: I dont think a cage fighting pug dog, no matter how experienced he is, is going to win a cage fight with a bullterrier? Do you? Just because the pug dog is more experienced? And that is what is called speculation. I would like the tiger to win rather than the lion, maybe because I like tigers more than Lions, maybe if i was the team leader of that program, I would have made it so to make the Tiger the winner of the fight, its ridiculous to think about it. Maybe it wasnt anything personal, IM NOT SAYING that the Tiger would have won, but what I am saying is that the ONLY way to really know, is to OBSERVE, as that is what real science is.
