"Caucasian" includes folks from India, Iran, Turkey, and more very dark skinned peoples. However, "Caucasian" is usually used interchangeably with "white." I think that this sort of classification is outdated. What is your opinion of this?

    African-American is used almost exclusively to denote those of negro ancestry. Yet, there are many white people, born in Africa who are not considered African Americans.
    I was born here in the United States. Am I not a native American, even if I don't have any American Indian geneology?

    • I am with you on not caring for the hyphenated American thing. I am an American... period. If asked my ethnicity, then I state that. Many people do not get the difference between nationality and ethnicity.
