    According to this it appears to be George Bush Sr, though I'm not sure if they're only talking contemporary times.

    How many vacation days has George W. Bush taken to date as president? How does that compare with Clinton?

    Dear Vince:

    While the president of the United States is never completely on vacation, most commanders-in-chief manage to enjoy a respite from the daily grind during their stay the White House. George W. Bush seems to have taken this to the extreme early in his tenure as president. A humorous, fake resume for Bush suggests that he set the record for most days on vacation by any president in U.S. history -- a bit of an exaggeration, but still cause for some teasing.

    According to an August 2003 article in the Washington Post, President Bush has spent all or part of 166 days during his presidency at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route. Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation. Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."

    Bush isn't the first president to get away from his work. George Bush Sr. took all or part of 543 vacation days at Camp David and in Kennebunkport. Ronald Reagan spent 335 days at or en route to his Santa Barbara, California, ranch during his eight years in office. Of recent presidents, Jimmy Carter took the least days off -- only 79 days, which he usually spent at his home in Georgia. That's less than three weeks a year, which is closer to the average American's paid time off of 13 days per year.

    What about Clinton? As of December 1999, President Bill Clinton had spent only 152 days on holiday during his two terms, according to CBS News. A former staffer noted Clinton was such a workaholic that "it almost killed Clinton to take one-week vacations during August." In 2000, Clinton cut his summer vacation short to just three days, so he and his wife could concentrate on her Senate race and fundraising for Democrats. While we couldn't find the exact tally for Clinton's last year in office, it's reasonable to expect he didn't increase his vacation rate. And in barely three years in office, George W. Bush has already taken more vacation than Clinton did in seven years.

    • Listen People. Anybody who knows anything about presidential vacations, would know that Camp David is not a "vacation" play land and any president who spends time at their home of record is by any means not taking a "vacation." What this means, is that when Obama spent time in Hawaii during Christmas, that truly was not a vacation. Oh sure I am sure the girls had a blast and stayed busy, I can just imagine what they were buying??? Michelle? Michelle is always on vacation. "I don't want fat kids, you gosh darn parents can't raise a child!!" Now just because Barack plays a few holes of golf doesn't mean that he he should be doing everything possible to win this war. I recall (not really, I'm not old enough)as a small boy, the days just after Pearl Harbor, president Roosevelt, hell took no vacation days, unless you think the Yalta or Tehran conferences just to name a few. Hell I don't think Wilson prior to WW1 took any vacations. I think your getting my drift at least the brighter of the readers understands what I'm getting at. So really, how many days did GWB take? I recall seeing the president doing a lot of PT, running, biking or calisthenics and what does Barack show us, how cool he looks puffin on that smoke while he's tellin your kids not to smoke. Classic "Do as I say not as I do." I don't need any politician, my neighbors, even my parents will not tell me how to raise my children. I already know I am a loving dad and always looking out for their best interest. I'm a lean retired Marine and all of my children are well within the appropriate weight/height standards, they stay active and were limited playing Video Games and spending more time outside. We all love the outdoors. Now those were excellent vacations and you know they were special when your kids still talk about it today. Every president needs to take time off, but there are certain instances and responsibilities that take precedent. Excuse me Man don't you know what the critical situation is? Instead you whine and point fingers, apologetic and weak to our peer countries and even some known enemy countries too. And I thought McCain was a crybaby!!! Sheesh! And what's up with Biden?? I am sure the liberals will use their fuzzy math to figure out vacation days. I can see it now GWB's numbers according to our liberal friends GWB Five Gazillion days to Obamas 21 days. And of course god bill clinton always seems to have the lowest numbers all the time (him or Carter)...Now that's funny. I'm done ranting today, all I have to say is....I'm just sayin.
