Your wireless is automatically intergrated on. If you don't have a wireless provider you can't get wireless. There are places that have wireless "hot spots".. you then can access those, if not passwoard protected. If you used broadband before your laptop, you can just connect the broadband cord directly into the broadband ethernet card. Use your manual that came with your laptop.

Could I connect a 1st gen ADSL modem up to a 2nd gen ADSL line and still get a connection at 1st gen speeds? Or would it not connect at all?

I have 20 meg ADSL broadband and my DL speed is around 1.6MB/s, my upload speed is 1.3 meg (120KB/s).

You're reading I know nothing about this so i really need some help i just bought a laptop its says it has Wireless Network Card Dell Wireless 1397 802.11b/g Half Mini Card?? So do i need to buy something else to plug into my broadband box to go on the net?
