While some whales and perhaps large sharks have plenty of space in the mouth to contain an entire adult human, the only case I have heard reported involves the Whale Shark. I believe a fisherman was found whole and alive inside a large Whale Shark somewhere off the coast of South America. I apologize for not having the reference on hand...

The Whale Shark feeds primarily on plankton and does not have large, sharp teeth. The poor guy probably just fell into the water in front of the creature while it was scooping/foraging or whatever they call it...

If by "swallow" you mean actually passed into the stomach or intestines whole... I am not sure this is possible. If it is possible, my best guess would be a record-sized great white or the probably extinct megalodon.

    • It's okay Thom that you have no cited ref., just don't let it happen again! Otherwise, no cookie for you! (LOL)
