If you had some hair folicals you know are his it the easiest. If you cannot get this the next best would be from his brother or sister if alive. Next would be any blood relation such as a direct aunt or uncle. Of course the further away you get the more difficult it becomes.
I think one of my step kids, does not belong to my wife's ex-husband. Should I secretly tell him to get a DNA test, or mind my own?

Yes, that is what I am saying. It can be difficult but not impossible. Go into some of the geneology sites such as ancesters,com or rootsweb.com and look for his name. Go through the lists of people looking for people and even leave your own message. He may already have others whom know him already and looking for other relatives.

There are also places whom will find relations but it can be expensive.
