My opinion is that Las Vegas will not see a professional sports team for at least 5 years, if not longer, hell if ever.
The city and what it stands for have caused a lot of controversy for professional sports.
I think the NFL would be the most likely to award a franchise before anyone else if Las Vegas ever got a team. Though I heard recently that the NHL was looking into relocating a dismal, fairly close franchise there or to San Diego possibly as early as 2011.
When it comes to retired Jersey numbers in the NBA, do the players who wore the number own the "rights" to that number after the Jersey number is retired?

I dunno. I've been here all my life, the city just doesnt sem to respond when there is talk of a pro team moving here. you'd think there would be a buzz or a movement started here for it. But it doesnt happen. The mayor is more interested than the people who live here.
