My cat does keading on my tummy, this is something new to him, he never did it when he was a kitten, my question is when my cat kneads on my tummy his hind leg shake which concerns me, have any idea why?

I recently adopted two 2 year old cats. Forthemosdtpart the cats are sweet, playful and lethargic. However, by night, they are very active. Because of this I don't want them in my room. They are constatnly scratching on my door. How do I stop them? thanks
