Generally return policies are purely optional whether they are from car dealerships or retail stores. There are no state laws or regulations that require dealerships to allow you to return a car. It has been my experience, however, that many dealerships will allow you to exchange a vehicle if it has less than 1000 miles and you are trading up for a vehicle that is of equal or higher value.
