A security guard saw a man in a factory late at night and chased him into the nearby school. The culprit was arrested and charged, but so was the guard- for having a gun on the (empty) school grounds. What are your thoughts?

  • I think its wrong that the guard got arrested. He was doing his job by chasing after a criminal, and if the criminal was armed and/or dangerous, how was the security guard supposed to defend himself? They're supposed to carry defensive weapons. Plus, it was late at night, the school was empty, who could have gotten hurt?

I guess they arrested the security guard, because he could have left the gun on the school grounds, a kid could have found it and shot themselves, or someone else. I still think only the criminal should have been arrested.
