Help answer this question below.

I have a 1986 vw golf. Car sits most of the time now, but when I jump it off, when I remove cables, the car goes dead. Tried new battery, ran ok for a few days, then same problem, went dead, and has to be jumped off. Then goes de

    may be alternator ,but i would change the cables to the battery first, a little cheaper....
