Help answer this question below.

My boyfriend the other day when i asked him if he would ever leave me, said "never ever". however, i cheated on him a few days ago while i was really drunk and didnt know what i was doing. i dont know if i should tell him or not.

Why is that all cheaters think that being drunk is a catch all thing that explains, justifies and exonerates every single one of their actions?
