Absolutely no one will agree with me, but I've found Unlimited Saga to be an excellent RPG. It features great hand drawn portraits and character sprites, a deep, complex battle system (Not your usual RPG fare where you can just levelgrind your way to the end.) and excellent music by Masashi Hamauzu.

The game received a lot of bad press since it wasn't a typical RPG. I will admit, it takes a while to really get into this game, but once you do, the game will really suck you in.

One criticism I have of the game is that there's pretty much no in-game help. The manual is pretty useless too. However, Gamefaqs holds quite a few really good reads that explain how the game works.

You can pick up the game for around 5 bucks used at GameStop. If you have a PS2 and 5 bucks, you might just enjoy it.

    • I liked Unlimited Saga. But I agree with you on your other points. The game had to be reset from the beginning several times for me. Which, was alright once I knew what was going on. But FFVII for me takes the cake, placing your choice at a distant second.
