Who was the first U.S. team to win the Stanley Cup?

Yes, it was the Seattle Metropolitans in 1917, but that was not Fourteen years after it was first awarded. The Stanley cup was first awarded to the Montreal AAA's in 1893; thus they won thirty four years after the first awarding.
