Why can't asthmatics be around perfume? I've always wondered if it was the actual flower fragrance, or if it was a chemical in it.

It hardly matters what it is in particular, but something often triggers an attack.

In extreme cases, they have to get special household products that are perfume free

    • Okay, I was wondering because I plan on planting a flower in my house, but it smells a lot like perfume, and I was wondering if it was the chemicals they use or what.

    • I see. How do you react around flowers? and that kind of flower in particular? If you're usually ok then you should still be ok.

Asthmatics can be triggered by all sorts of things, both natural and man-made and each person is sensitive to different things so I don't think it's possible to do a blanket prediction
