We wore tights and ballet slippers and leotards at Julliard.

Also, cut off tights and no slippers were some times used - easier to grip the floor.

Leotards allow form to be seen and mistakes also!

    • Juilliard is spelled Ju"I"lliard not Julliard.
      Juilliard has no beginner classes.
They are not cut off tights, but footless tights.
I have done the Juilliard program SI

Juilliard ballet classes wear pointe shoes for ballet not slippers.
Footless/convertable tights and barefoot for contemporary class.
She doesn't even know the correct names for the tights.
