Help answer this question below.

Does alcoholism or substance abuse run in your family? If so, do you think you are in any way abusing alcohol or other drugs? If it is alcohol, do you ever worry you might be an alcoholic?

    It runs in my family with 3 people going back to my grandfather and also my Dad. I used to drink alot and then I got worried. I talked with my friend and also my doctor. They felt I should quit and I did over several weeks. I went to AA meetings for children of alcoholics for some time. I have been sober now for over a year.

    It was very scary and I am very glad I stopped when I did. I could have died by age 45-50 if I had continued drinking as I did.
