I too make all efforts to make amends with customers until they start saying things about my employees at which point I tell them that if they are going to use that kind of language or make racist remarks that I will be unable to help them.

I was a cashier at a restaurant and a customer walked up to me and just started cussing at me because of his waiter. He's a big man, and I'm just a young girl and it freaked me out. I could feel my eyes turning red I was so angry and he called me a bitch for not being perfectly sweet back to his rude comments. I regret not being able to handle myself better, but I'm glad my boss could see it from my side and he felt no remorse in telling that customer goodbye.
