On average, how big would the sun appear at midday on Mercury (what percentage of the sky would it fill)?

    Viewed from Mercury the Sun looks nearly three times as large as it does from Earth, and is up to 11 times brighter.

    So...I'm not sure what % that equates too but gives you a relative size at least.

    Here is a side by side comparison of Earth vs Mercury at 'noon' (it is much more pronounced at perihelion, At its closest (perihelion), it is only 28.6 million miles from the Sun while, at its most distant (aphelion), it is 43.5 million miles)

    • Sorry I couldn't get YOUR question...perhaps posting in the MATH area...If the sun were 3 times as large how much more of the sky would it fill? Some math geek should be able to figure that out!
