You're reading Who hits/tackles harder? A Rugby Player? or A Gridiron player?
Comments
I've played Gridiron while I was over in Georgia visiting family. The game is too structured, too many set plays making it boring. And they can't tackle if their life's depended on it. I played a few games and found it very very boring

Forgot to give you points, just gave them to you.
Personally, i don't like Gridiron, it is such a boring spectator sport. Can't say i have ever played it, and don't have any desire to.
So are the Canes going to win this weekend ? I am sure the Waratahs will.

You do not want to play Gridiron, trust me. Against the Chiefs we should come away with a tight win, and of course there is no doubt that the Waratah's will be victorious this week, they have a field day.

We always play the first 3 games in South Africa it appears, and we generally come away with 3 wins, so hopefully we can keep it up.
So who do you reckon i should tip in the rugby tipping comp then ? The Canes you reckon huh.

Yea go the Canes!

I think the gridiron players hit harder but its only due to the protection they have.
by Valparaiso on February 19th, 2007
Gridiron players will hit each other as hard as they can, but there will be no affect due to the sissy protection. Rugby players can either choose to wear the protection or not. And it's all natural, all in the shoulder.

You must be out of your mind if you don't think 'gridiron' or American/Canadian football players don't hit hard.
The offensive and defensive lines are nothing but explosive acceleration out of a set stance, it's even practiced on padded weighted sleds. Before pads were made mandatory several players a year would be killed or seriously injured.
Rugby players are tougher all around and in better athletic condition though.

NFL players are pure athletes, the truth is that there probably isnt a single rugby union or league player that has the explosive power or speed to make the NFL. There are 110kg linebackers that are faster than any union player. Hell there are 130kg linemen almost as fast as rugby outside backs over 20 metres. That being said, rugby tackling is more technical and alot more punishing on the person doing the tackling.
