What are the advantages of a 2.4ghz cordless phone over a 900mhz cordless phone?

    the 2.4ghz is more than 2x as powerful. 1000mhz = 1ghz
    2400mhz = 2.4ghz
    900mhz = 0.9ghz

    2400mhz (2.4ghz) > 900mhz (0.9ghz)

    as the simple equations show above, a 2.4ghz cordless is 2.667 times as powerful as a 900mhz. it is transmitting with more power, gining the user more range and better reception (compared to a 900mhz). of course more power means more energy is consumed but between these two phones it is incredibly insignificant. anyway the phone is equipt with a larger capacity battery. most cordless phones last 4 hrs off of the charger.

    • Frequency has nothing to do with power nor with battery consumption.  Nearly everything in this answer is wrong.

    • range of the cordless depends upon power of the transmiter not on the the frequency.
