Were you sexually abused as a child?

Yes. I am still working on the fallout in therapy.

One of the ways I expressed my anger at my fortunately dead father was to tell and tell and tell and tell.

He would have hated for people, especially his family, to know.

His family went through a period of no contact with me. They eventually reconsidered because of certain other things that have come to light in the people of my generation.

I have been able to reach out to many people who came up to me to tell their stories and offer them at least the knowledge that they were very not alone.

For a while, I wondered if I was wearing a sign since so many people came up and told me their stories.

It makes me enraged to read about child abuse in the news. I hope I never try to befriend someone who has abused a child and tries to tell me about it.

At least people, now, in this country, talk about it and are mostly aware that it is a very negative thing to do to a child. (understatement)

I'm a survivor too, dhubsith. I hear you and support you in your healing process. Glad you figured out you weren't wearing a sign. Though compassion alone is a VERY magnetic force. I hope you never feel overwhelmed by your "random" interactons. You shouldn't have to. All you can be is willing. The rest either will or won't follow.
