    Americans should have a system that means people from all financial backgrounds have access to good quality treatment they need, when they need it. If that means the introduction of socialised medicine then I think it's a good idea. Yes, you pay for it in taxes, but personally I think healthcare for those who need it is much more important than cheap gas. It's disgraceful when people are dying and have to choose which finger to have sewn back on because of lack of money in a developed country.
    They could use an incentive to cut down on the monstrous size and amount of cars they have anyway :-)

    • So is so true and even with health care it is really expensive to go. I have not been to a doctor in like 4 years.

    • Yeah, those co-payments are a real downer. And then, once you get to the doctor and s/he tells you what treatment you need, there's no guarantee the insurance will actually pay for it. It's a ridiculous system where doctors can't do what they're trained to do and end up spending their valuable time paper-pushing, and where insurance companies who aren't even on the ground with patients make life and death decisions. Absurd.

    • Careful, you used the word socialised when talking to americans, they don't have the education to tell the differnce between a soicalist policy like NHS and communist polices like slavery.

    • Lol, yeah -- it seems many Americans think socialised medicine is the first step to Big Brother when in reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
