Help answer this question below.

I have a lilac bush that I have had for 10 years. However, it is only about 3 feet high. Approximately, what is the annual growth rate for this bush?

    Faster than that by a long shot.
    If its in deep shade, move it, it needs more sunlight.
    More likely is that it doesn't like its soil. My garden book says that lilacs (aka. syringa) need well-drained neutral to slightly alkaline soil. "If soil is strongly acid, dig lime into it before planting."
    Lime is a white powder, if you are confused, not related to the citrus fruit 'lime'.

    • I agree. Although I can't imagine soil being that bad. Another idea would be you have a dwarf variety. I have a korean lilac that has never gotten over 4 feet.
