If a runner standing on first base is hit by a batted ball, what is the correct call?

    If the runner is on base, then there is no call. This would be no different than the ball hitting a rock or a base.

    UNLESS the runner intentionally obstructed. In this case, the umpires would determine what would have happened without the obstruction, and call the outs accordingly.
