    picnics
going for walks - i'm not talking about getting in some good ol' fashion excercise, though that's great too
but just get in your car, go to a park, and walk and talk for a few hours, feed some ducks, watch kids at a playground...

or if you're more the in-doorsy type - since it's winter and all...i'd think cooking together, or going through old pictures and making collages would be fun
    puzzles, cards, 20 questions...

hope you enjoy whatever you do, and maybe you get to learn a bit about your partner

    • i love the 'going' and doing stuff but we have two small children... so family outings, are, well, family outings lol.

    • hm the park idea still stands, and since you wouldn't want to leave them completely neglected, do they have an aunt or uncle that would be willing to give you two a break from the kids? i'm not an in law but i still love doing that for my aunts and uncles or cousins and stuff
my dad used to play scrabble with us because it wasn't as long as monopoly and we would do rules like "only names in the family" or "places to travel" and that made it fun
it was always a way to learn about the family members

    • scrabble is big in our family - i'm going to go get our own board here pretty soon.

they do - but it's hard to coordinate times. nights out are rare. we do the park sometimes tho.
