At last the supreme court is challenging the right to bear arms of citizens. This has been long overdue and needs to get attention.Original reasons for carrying arms have changed since the old west and changes needed.What do you think the outcome will be?

    I hope it will uphold it. I do not disagree with you as far as the historical context, but that right is still in the constitution, and there is a due process in place to change it. If it is the country's desire to remove that as a protected right, they need to go through the steps to pass a constitutional amendment to change it.

    A minor point - the Supreme Court is not challenging the right, they are hearing a case on it. The District of Columbia is challenging the right because they passed a law that restricts that right.
