Brilliant. I wish I would have thought of putting it that way.
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
Glad you agree!
I may have misjudged you.
I'm sure I'll get bashed for it same as my last answer to this question.
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on September 30th, 2007
Stay with me for a minute. If illegal immigration was being handled by 12 free thinking American empaneled jurist, rather than politicians. That have high dollar contributing lobbyist to answer to. I think the simple conviction would. GUILTY! With immediate expulsion to immediately follow. But hey that's me, thats how I roll. I have no interest to learn Spanish. I'm very content with English. Old World or otherwise.
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
Agreed!
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on September 30th, 2007
I be takin it to Davey Jones Locker, argh!
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
Another good answer, Captain!
by Cynstriss on September 30th, 2007
Thanks Cyn let's see if it holds up to those that want to coddle illegals!
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on September 30th, 2007
It's so insane. I wish I could qualify for all the benefits they get. When I lived up in Northern California, I had many neighbors who were illegal. This one couple in particular told me all about the programs they had signed up for. They paid 1/3 of the rent that I did, got free groceries from several different churches, got breaks on all of their utilities, and got free daycare for their four children. And, did I mention, they had a brand new Hummer? How in the world is that fair?
by Cynstriss on September 30th, 2007
cyntriss and Capt Jack. It's a mystery to me how illegal aliens allow themselves to be abandoned by their home country of Mexico. I think there being exploited twice. Initially by Mexico for not being concerned whether they live or die. Then by the employers here in the states that reap the benefit of having them basically working for nothing. It is pretty shrewed of Mexico to ignore the problem, and have the idiot tax payers of the US footing the bill. Breaking the law to get here, thats right way to start off isn't it? I think the immigration service has all the necessary immigration forms printed in Spanish available at most US Embassy's and Consulates around Mexico. Just thought I'd share that.
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
I agree they have opportunities and advocates en masse. I don't understand why they don't take advantage and become legal. In fact, I posed that very question here and only got two responses: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/402865

Well I'll be going green and recycling on this one. ;)
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007

by Cynstriss on September 30th, 2007
Ok if I recycle there too?
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on September 30th, 2007
@the answer. Outstanding.
by Cowboy-Matter of Fact on September 30th, 2007

by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on September 30th, 2007
I'm maxed out for you, but I'm sure you will be OK. It's amazing how many people cannot come forward and admit they disagree with you. I always give points for all answers, even if the responder opines differently to me. I can respect that. But a coward has nothing worth respecting.
by Cynstriss on September 30th, 2007
See I don't get the whole dinging points off of answers at all. You ask a question, aren't you basically soliciting responses to the question? Good with the bad, intelligent with the ignorant. It's got to be the rush of knowing you did it, and not being able to share it with others.
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
I agree, it makes no sense. I have yet to give a negative to anyone. I think you are right, it's got to be some sort of rush for those who do it.
by Cynstriss on September 30th, 2007
Only a mutinous scoundrel will ding an awesome answer like Capt Jacks!
by Scooter on September 30th, 2007
I agree with you there Scooter!
I got run over by a cross post there
Your very kind Scooter

Mabe the Cap't could give credit to the person who actually wrote his answer. I've seen it on the net too many times. It's one of thse self-righteous, sef-justifying answers that seems so right until one thinks it through. Of course, there are some who can't think things through...
by centrator on October 1st, 2007
Centrator, this is exactly how it is. They come here illegaly and then want not only the rights they don't deserve, but special treatment. If you want I could find the quotes I have from the people at the fore front of that movemnet. They'd make the Klan proud with all the hate in them. But thanks for the condasending remark as always.
by P. W. Pasobrio loves Marines on October 1st, 2007
I'd love to credit the actual writer! I truly would! But she said exactly what I felt so eloquently, I'd be plagiarizing it anyway by restating the same feelings in different words.
The point is, it's exactly what the problem IS right now!
If these people stood up to their own corrupt government and changed things in the country they seem to want to turn this one into by not wanting to assimilate into it the same EXACT way that the Germans, Jewish, Irish, Scottish, British, Swedish, Hungarian, Latvian, Scandinavian, Lithuanian, Russian, French, etc. and so on HAD to! People see to all to easily forget how hard the struggle was when the country had a lot more room for immigrants that wanted DESPERATELY to BE AMERICAN, not to glorify where they abandoned!
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on October 1st, 2007
Capt Jack & Princess, I concur. It's a damn outrage!
by Scooter on October 2nd, 2007
If they all want to earn a living, they should all join our fine Americans in the military and be sent to fight in the war. Then we'll see who loves this country verses how many run back to their own.
by Cynstriss on October 2nd, 2007
Or place a bounty on the head of every verifiable illegal alien in the country. And have the INS paying a $1,000.00 bounty for everyone turned over to them. Hell I could quit my dead end job, and clean up. And once the word got out back home that there being hunted like deer, they may not be compelled to come in the first place.
by Scooter on October 2nd, 2007
Sounds good to me, scooter. They'd be easy to catch. Just go to your local welfare office. There's usally about a dozen of them there.
by P. W. Pasobrio loves Marines on October 2nd, 2007
Looks like I really stirred up some ultra-liberals the other day I'm getting trolled up the wahzoo on anything political lately.
by Capt. Jack Sparrow GALCIY on November 15th, 2007
You know what? You all know I'm expecting. My husband is self-employed. We can't afford insurance. We make 2% of the poverty level ABOVE the Medicaid cut-off point. Effectively, we're $10 a month too rich to get the benefits we've been paying into a combined 30 YEARS. But Maria Valez down the road who skipped the border? No one even ASKS how much money she makes. She gets INSTANT benefits. What the HELL?
by Lady Alathia of Vulcan on December 17th, 2007
A perfect example of what is wrong with the immigration system. A citizen should not be denied medical care while an illegal alien gets all they need at no cost or very low cost. It is absurd. I am sorry for your circumstances, Lady Alathia. The same thing happened to my niece. It took them three years to pay for the delivery of their baby, because they could not afford any insurance. Fortunately they have coverage now, but it was a struggle for awhile. I am so sick of this situation.
by Cynstriss on December 17th, 2007
HOLY CRAP!!!
I JUST got a call from Medicaid saying they screwed up and I DO get benefits!!
w00t!
by Lady Alathia of Vulcan on December 17th, 2007
Excellent news for you! Congratulations!
by Cynstriss on December 17th, 2007
That'll show me to complain!
by Lady Alathia of Vulcan on December 17th, 2007
Good for you, Lady Alanthia. I'm gald it worked out for you. I just got told I'm losing my benifits for food stamps because I make 130% over the cap. Funny thing is I'm making $8.oo an hour at only 25 hours a week and this percentage is the same as when I worked 40 hours a week at $8.00 an hour. She also didn't take out my child support I pay or my daycare costs like she's suppost too. And you'd better believe I'm pointing that out to her an her boss. I already told her boss I wanted a new case worker because she screws things up and doesn't know the sytem. Now I have proff.
by P. W. Pasobrio loves Marines on December 17th, 2007
Damn! Just when I start to have faith in the system again.
I should have known better... my stepfather broke his back 15 years ago. He applied for Medicare and all of that (because he couldn't WORK) and they THREW OUT HIS APPLICATION. THREE TIMES. Because they though he SPELLED HIS NAME WRONG.
His name is Rodger. Apparently, people with "d"s in their names don't qualify for medicare.
by Lady Alathia of Vulcan on December 18th, 2007
"D" is for denial. I hope to hell that wasn't the reason. But it sounds stupid enough to be possible. I hope it worked out for him in the in!
by Scooter on December 18th, 2007
It did. He ended up hiring a lawyer against Social Security and Medicare... I am still baffled that they thought the man couldn't spell his own name. I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't been there for the meeting with the Medicare case worker.
by Lady Alathia of Vulcan on December 18th, 2007
It's the government play book. It's a mystery to everyone. Once you understand the way things are done, your eliminated!
by Scooter on December 18th, 2007
Bad analogy a country is not private property. If so everyone can force anyone legal or not legal to leave because at the end it is your home and you can kick out even your own children if you want to can't you? Analogy failed.

Don't forget the part where your company went into their neighborhood and ,with the help if a corrupt mayor, took away their land and livelihood.
by branciforte3241 on March 27th, 2011
While I generally agree with the moral ambiguity of the fact that immigrants are sneaking over the borders, we must admit that we created this problem ourselves. The government did nothing to stop the tide of immigrants and now, fifty years later, there are 50 million Latinos in the country. That accounts for a massive percentage of our country's population. These are people that DO work and DO spend, regardless of the fact that many live below the poverty line and work minimum wage jobs. The fact that they spend money helps the economy, and if you are under the impression that there are 50 or even ten million Latinos that don't work at all, you are sorely mistaken. The census itself is against you in that assumption. Whether or not they should be there is not the point. The fact is that they are here and we must decide what is to be done.
There is absolutely no way that the United States has the ability to locate and deport more than 15 million illegals from our country. It is simply impossible. There are only 2.8 million people in our armed forces, most of whom are overseas, which means the sheer scale of the job makes it impractical. The U.S. can't even stem the tide of immigrants coming in! What makes you think they can kick them out?
The only solution is to consider them a resource instead of a problem. In America the movie industry depends on migrant workers. Even the movie industry! Turning your back on so much cheap labor and free capital is ludicrous.
Face the facts, the Mexicans are here to stay, so stop whining about whats fair and start thinking about what makes sense. Unless you have a few billion stashed away that you're willing to spend to kick the Latinos out?
by John_H8356 on March 29th, 2011
A lot of non-relevant argument. We need to keep a growing population. Contrary to tea party thinking illegal aliens use no more services than native born people of the same economic status. If we want a Japanese style stagnant economy then, yes, we should fence ourselves in and bury our heads in the sand. An expanding population is necessary for an expanding economy.
