It's easy to "Level up" at first, but it gets harder each time, so give as many good answers as you can to level up quickly. When you make it to higher levels, you'll see the following changes: The more votes you receive, more your level will increase, and the louder your voice will be on the site. Related questions:

I believe it is a point given for flagging a question or answer. I think, the more honest the flag is, the more points you will get.

Joel, whereas the Gold trophies are for the top 10 contributors this week, can you make Silver trophies for those who are on the top 11-30 and the Bronze trophies for those who are on the top 31-60? That doesn't sound like too much trouble to put in, and it would be nice. Thanks.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. Since we have silver and bronze medals, those other colored trophies sounds like an ok idea to me.

May I suggest "Savant" for level 90?

Well, not to burst your bubble or anything, but AB isn't really about the points (for me at least). To earn points you should ask and answer questions well. And you can moderate (read Part III http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1919455)

What y'all don't understand is that the AB Administration folks get BIG gonuses from the Congressional Stimulous Package when we give + points to thier questions/answers. Thus far, they've earned $1,000 per point! (Congressman Barney Frank put it in as one of his "Pork" things. That girl will do anything for a vote.)
Oh, yeah, AB Administration, +6, just to add to that fat bonus. :-)

nickname: I would suggest you rather ask this in an extra question.
My observation: I see that you have 323/479 answers with rating 0 or less.
One cause for this could be that you often give extremely short answers, like with one up to 3 words. Some users don't care and give you points anyway, for others it is not enough.
