Help answer this question below.

Why do we all view Pedophiles as child rapists? Many Pedophiles do not act on thier urges.

    Basically what you are implying is that paedophilia is a sexual orientation? (hidden within society and only talked about when acted upon).

    I personally agree to an extent. Just like homersexuality you cannot cure sexual orientation, the only difference with paedophilia is that unlike homersexuality it is non-consensual and requires a victim. These victims are then often psychologically damaged (by having their sexual development tampered with) and go on to repeat the destructive pattern.

    If a person does not act on their urges, they are still of that sexual orientation (which is labelled paedophile). IF they go through their entire lives without ever viewing images (because that is just paying for a service where crimes are still committed) or touching, grooming or hurting any children, then they are not criminals and I feel very sorry for them being so tormented throughout their lives.

    The thing is though nobody would ever know they were of that nature would they? Its not something that people would advertise (because of the mistrust it would bring). I'm sure there are a lot of people that have these urges and are strong to resist them.
