That, I am thinking you can turn it into a fun game...she's five, so shes smart and the things you said when she was three was easier to convince than it might be now. I work with children ages 3-5 and when we see the lightning, it's like a party! We laugh and talk about how exciting it is to see the sky light up without the sunshine! We talk about how lightning and fireworks are a lot alike and how they differ. We talk about how we have different types of weather and mother nature. Mother natures needs to let all the weather take turns to show off , like she does at show and tell time. Even showing her that lightning is something people study and photographers look for lightning for pictures so that everyone can see how beautiful it is. Tell her she's lucky to see something like this and it doesn't happen very often.

I sincerely hope this leads for some success.

Oh, I also thought of one more thing, go to a museum that demonstrates about storms and I found something online that says to buy a video about storms.

    • Oh wow...I really am going to do everything you mentioned. I love the taking turns and showing off. That's something she may respond to. She did show and tell in pre-k, so she may enjoy this try. Also the idea about videos is smart. I don't know why I haven't tried that. Thanks for your thoughts
