Usually a man would ask the woman he wants to wed's parents for their permission in marriage, with this in mind should the woman ask the man's parents for permission to marry their son when proposing? List your views on this.

    It used to come from the time where the woman was basically owned by her family and you would ask the fathers permission to give her away. Thats why today the brides father still gives away his daughter.
