This is very important to me: Are moral values learned from experience and society, or are they inborn? Do you feel bad about doing something "wrong", when nobody ever told you it was wrong?

You're reading Do the benefits of animal testing outweigh the discomforts and possible death of the animal? If there were no animal testing... what is the alternative... human testing? Which is worse?
Comments
If its barbarous and cruel to animals, wouldn't it be the same or more so to humans with or without consent... or is consent the only thing that makes it barbarous and cruel? Save the animal, kill the human?

Yes save the animal. I have decided to opt for death rather than use an animal tested product should it come to it.

So should you get a tumor, don't take the drugs to reduce its size, because it was tested on animals to make sure you don't die from it. Should you be given a prescription from your doctor ask him for a drug that hasn't been tested on an animal and volunteer to be part of that first round of tests straight from the lab. The next time you go into surgery make sure you request that nothing thats been tested on animals goes into your body or touches your body... but make sure you have your affairs in order and say your good bye's to your family first. Too many LIFE SAVING things result from Animal Testing to ban it. There are needless testing that involve animals that goes on, no doubt about that, but not all animal testing is cruel and not all animal testing can be stopped. Its a balance, one that many people can't grab hold of when they begin a crusade. Too many people see things as ALL or NOTHING... Not all things are good, not all things are bad.

What is really barbaric is to advocate testing medicines on humans rather than other animals. PETA is the group that is seriously misguided and ethically unjustified. It is PETA propoganda you mindlessly copy here, and it makes no sense. You say you prefer to die to using products animal testing provide us. Well, I do not, and some of your family probably does not either. Would you deny your own child life-saving medicine just because it was the result of animal testing? If you did, you should be executed for murder.
