Help answer this question below.

When you join the army you go to get your self blown up or shot down.

I've heard this so many times. What i want to know is those of you who serve in the army or any branch if you have heard this how do you respond to those who are misinformed about how the military works.

    Like many stupid phrases that people use because they hear them over and over and sort of like the rhythm of, it makes no sense. Men and women join the military for many reasons. It is because of people like them that the rest of us can spout our ridiculous beliefs and idiotic statements like the one above, because in America you are free to say what you wish. Largely due to people who have joined the military. The ones who got blown up or shot down deserve better than this.
