No I don't believe Branham was a prophet. He is not the first self proclaimed prophet and he won't be the last one.

A little research on-line will produce a number of his prophecies that failed, a number of prophecies that were so vague that they could be applied to a lot of events, and prophecies that relate to the news of the times that he lived in ( research what was happening in technology during his time, WW1, Fascism, Socialism, Communism and unrest leading up to WWII .............. Jesus taught us to be pure and innocent, not ignorant. Matthew 10:16 - "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Let's use the minds that God gave us, and do some research and critical thinking.

"...dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1). It always boggles my mind how Christians get caught up in following someone other than Jesus. Read the bible, follow Jesus, pray for wisdom. It isn't Branham or anyone else that saves us. No persons teaching will save us, churches don't save us. There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus. Wake up and stop following so called leaders with special knowledge. All of us now have the same access to God. The bottom line is that our faith in Jesus saves us, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” It's not about the right words that we use, or whether you have God figure out, like that is possible. Are you going to get into heaven because you believed what Branham told you? Is God going to tell the people that put their hope in Jesus for their salvation but didn't follow Branhams advice about dress codes, baptism procedures.... that they can't enter heaven. It is unbelievable how we make all these rules and try to work our way to heaven when all of these things are useless in Gods mind.

I leave you with the Parable of the Wicked Husbandman, "There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son...."
